Important Tools For iPhone 15 Pro Screen and Back Glass Replacement

Before starting your iPhone 15 Pro rear glass and screen replacement it is important to have all the tools and parts ready. This will make the process easier and more organized. Below is a list of everything you will need.

  • * iPhone 15 Pro replacement parts (iPhone 15 Pro screen/rear glass).
  • * P2 Pentalobe screwdriver.
  • * Heat gun or hair dryer.
  • * Tri-point Y000 screwdriver.
  • * Suction cup tool.
  • * Plastic opening picks.
  • * Spudger tool.
  • * Isopropyl alcohol (90% or higher).
  • * Microfiber or lint-free cloth.
  • * Tweezers.

Make sure to keep these tools close by. We also recommend choosing a quiet and clean workspace to make the process smoother. Having an electrical socket nearby is helpful too especially when you need to use the heat gun or hair dryer.

Step #1. Prepare the iPhone 15 Pro for Disassembling

Prepare the iPhone 15 Pro for Disassembling

  • * Firstly we need to get our device ready for disassembling.
  • * Please remove all the cables and wires from the iPhone 15 Pro when you are going to start the disassembling of the phone.
  • * Also check the charging status. It should be under 25%. A more charged battery is more susceptible to catching fire if accidentally gets damaged by the metal tool.

Step #2. Switch Off the iPhone 15 Pro

  • * Now we need to turn off the iPhone 15 Pro before attempting any disassembly.
  • * To do this you need to press the power button and the volume down button at the same time.
  • * Wait for a while pressing the button until you see the power off options on your screen.
  • * Now leave the button and slide the “Power Off” slider on the screen.
  • * After a few seconds the screen will go dark. It means the phone is completely off now.

Apply Packing Tape on the Back Glass and the Screen

Apply Packing Tape on the Back Glass and the Screen

  • * This is an extra step you have to follow if your phone’s rear glass or screen is cracked or damaged.
  • * Apply straps of the packing tape on the rear glass and cover it fully.
  • * This action will protect your eyes and face from the shaded small pieces of glass that could come out when pulling with the suction tool.
  • * Whether it is the screen or the back glass you need to make sure that there should be a smooth section on the bottom edge to apply a suction tool.

Step #3. Open Pentalobe Screws and Remove Them

Open Pentalobe Screws and Remove Them

  • * It’s time to open the pentalobe screws that are located on both sides of the charging port.
  • * The iPhone 15 Pro has two 7 mm long screws. You can use a P2 Pentalobe Screwdriver for opening these two screws.
  • * Take the screws out and put them on a secure place for reusing when reassembling.

Step #4. Apply Heat at the Bottom Edge of the iPhone 15 Pro

Apply Heat at the Bottom Edge of the iPhone 15 Pro

  • * Firstly we will apply the heat on the bottom edge of the iPhone 15 Pro. Because this area is safe for inserting 3 mm deel opening picks. Otherwise the remaining edges have cables and spring contact beneath the back glass.
  • * Use a heat gun or a hair dryer for heat application. Do this action for 20 to 30 seconds long. Excessive heat can damage the battery or the screen.
  • * It would be better if you keep checking your phone while applying heat and feel the warmth with your hands until it gets too hot to touch.

Step #5. Apply the Suction Handle and Insertion of the Opening Pick

Apply the Suction Handle and Insertion of the Opening Pick

  • * After heating the bottom edge we will apply the suction handle at the center of the bottom edge.
  • * Apply steady force to pull up the rear glass and create a line gap.
  • * Insert the first opening pick into the gap between the rear glass and the frame.
  • * Then remove the suction handle after opening the pick insertion.
  • * Please remember you can only insert the pick 5 mm deep at the bottom side between the rear glass and the frame.

Mark Your Opening Pick

Mark Your Opening Pick

  • * You can follow our idea for avoiding tar insertion of the pick inside the rear glass.
  • * You can mark your opening pick at the 3 mm measurements.
  • * Do the measurements with a scale and mark it with a permanent marker.
  • * Also you can stick a coin from the 3 mm measurements.
  • * This will stop the pick from deep insertion.

Step #6. Move the Opening Pick to Cut The Adhesive

Move the Opening Pick to Cut The Adhesive

  • * Now slide the opening pick back and forth to separate the adhesive between the back glass and the frame.
  • * Take the pick toward the bottom right corner of the iPhone 15 Pro.
  • * Here it’s better to leave the pick. It will prevent the adhesive from sticking again.

Apply Heat on the Right Edge of the Rear Glass and Slide the Opening Pick

  • * Use the hair dryer or the heat gun ( preferably use a heat gun) to warm up the adhesive between the rear glass and the frame. Heat will melt the adhesive and you can separate the rear glass quickly.
  • * Apply heat only for 20 to 30 seconds and keep checking the glass by touching your hand until it gets too hot to touch.
  • * Heating for a long time can damage the battery and internal components.
  • * Now slide the opening pick from the bottom right corner to the right edge of the phone.
  • * Keep sliding the pick until you feel the clip. The pick will feel hard to move.
  • * To release the clip you need to twist and turn the pick and also rotate the pick so that the flat side goes in. After some effort the clip will release the frame and you will be able to move the pick ahead.
  • * Take the pick toward the volume down button and leave the opening pick here.

Step #8. Give Heat to the Left and Top Edge of the Phone and Cut the Adhesive

  • * Use the same heating equipment that you chose for the above heating steps.
  • * Insert the opening pick from the bottom edge of the phone and move it toward the left edge. You will move cutting through the bottom left corner’s adhesive and then cut the adhesive from the left edges.
  • * Here you will also find a clip that secures the back glass to the frame.
  • * Twist and turn the pick to release the clip and move ahead.
  • * Take the opening pick to the top left corner. Slide the pick carefully along the top left corner.
  • * Here is the top clip you have to release.
  • * If to stuck please use a flat-tip spudger to release the clip from the frame.
  • * Move the opening pick ahead and again you will encounter a clip on the top edge of the phone.
  • * Release it and move toward the top right corner.
  • * Rotate the pick along the right corner of the back glass.
  • * Slide the pick until you reach the volume up button.
  • * Leave the opening here. (Two opening picks are interested in the right edge. One is near the volume down button and another one is near the volume up button.)

Step #9. Swing Opening The Back Glass

  • * If you feel any resistance check the edges again for any leftover adhesive or clips that may still be holding it.
  • * Once the back glass is loose rest it against a small box or something similar to avoid pulling or damaging the cable.
  • * As you know the rear glass is still attached because the cables are connected.

Step #10. Open the Screw of the Wireless Charging Connector Cover and Remove It

Open the Screw of the Wireless Charging Connector Cover and Remove It

  • * The wireless charging cable is hidden under the connector cover.
  • * To open its 1.0 mm long screw you need a tri-point Y000 screwdriver.
  • * Open the screw and keep it safely aside.
  • * Please carefully secure all the screws so that you don’t have to face difficulty while reassembling. Also keep in mind that all the screws need to go back the same whole where they come from.
  • * Now use a tweezer for sliding the cover and unlatching it from the logic board.
  • * Remove the connector cover.

Step #11. Disconnect the Wireless Charging Cable and Remove the Rear Glass

When you are cutting through the adhesive holding the screen you have to watch out for a couple of sensitive spots.

  • * There are two cables that connect the screen to the iPhone 15 Pro logic board. One is just above the action button and the other is closer to the middle on the left side.
  • * Also there are tiny spring contacts around the edges of the phone. Be really careful not to push your tool too far here. If you go too deep you could bend or damage those contacts.
  • * Just take your time and stick to the right depth to keep everything safe.

Step #14. Slide the Opening Pick
